01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Climbing the stairs to the 3th floor of a building overlooking the Horikawa-Oike intersection leads to an inviting space of just around 8 seats. TRATTORIA nudo is an Italian restaurant carefully managed by a lone chef-owner, who handles everything from kitchen preparation to table service. The window-facing counter seats offer an easy, unpretentious setting to watch the cityscape unfold, suited equally to solo lunches or relaxed meals in company.
Lunch begins with an artfully arranged starter course. Following a vegetable-focused antipasto that highlights the natural character of its ingredients, the pasta selection offers choices such as tomato sauce with buffalo mozzarella or carbonara to suit personal tastes. Freshly cooked noodles offer a clean bite, thoroughly coated in sauces that bring out the natural sweetness of the tomatoes.
Italian Moretti beer and wine by the glass make natural companions to the food. After the main courses, rounding off the meal with a dolce alongside coffee or tea offers a pleasant way to linger. Because every order is prepared by a single cook, dishes can take a little time to arrive, yet guests have a front-row view of each plate being composed with quiet dedication. Payment is cash only, so it is best to visit with cash in hand and plenty of time to spare.
